Why write this book?

After Jesus set the demoniac free, He told him "Go home to thy friends, and tell them how great things the Lord hath done for thee, and hath had compassion on thee."

The next verse says:  "And he departed, and began to publish in Decapolis how great things Jesus had done for him:"
Like this demoniac I was bound by sin and by various addictions.  I know beyond any doubt that I had no power to free myself.
I have had some people tell me that I was the one who did it, that it was my own will power or resolve that set me free.
I tell you that I was BOUND!  I couldn't free myself, I tried and it didn't work.
I've also seen people who have stopped doing drugs through AA and other methods, yet they are not really free.
They either are addicted to another drug or to meetings, or they are always worried about going back.

Jesus said: "If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.” (John 8:36 )

Paul the Apostle wrote: Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. (2 Corinthians 5:17)

I am no longer an alcoholic, and I am no longer a crack addict, I am free, totally free!  Praise God!

I had thought about writing a book many times, but never really took it seriously.

Then one day I said, "God if you really want me to write this book what will it be about?
I don't have some powerful testimony like Nicky Cruz (who went on to become a powerful evangelist), and I haven't really done anything for God that would be considered noteworthy.
At that moment I felt God speak to my heart "The book is not about you, it is about Me and My Faithfulness to you."
Hence the title "Great is Thy Faithfulness" because the testimony is not about me, it's about the reality of Jesus Christ and His faithfulness to me.
